A steady-paced, non-demanding, and fun way for kids to learn Arabic

Arabic language lessons taking place weekly under the guidance of skilled instructors, where students will learn Arabic language fundamentals to allow them to be able to read, write, and speak in Arabic.

Placement

If a child has had prior learning experiences outside of our program, they may undergo placement testing by a proctor to place them at the highest level we believe they can succeed in.

Books

Children will be provided materials, produced by center, to be used throughout the year.

Topics

Areas of study covered throughout the year will depend on class level. All levels will cover to varying depths: Reading, Writing, Speaking, Expression, and Grammar.

Homework

Children may be given homework assignments to be completed weekly for program success.

What is the enrollment process after I submit the online application?
As soon as you complete and submit the online application, it will be placed in the queue of applications. You will receive a call from our office to discuss your application.
Do you offer an installment plan?

Unfortunately there is no installment plan available, however, your family may be eligible for the Scholarship Program to save on costs.

How do I know if I am eligible for free tuition?
The online application provides more details regarding scholarship eligibility.
Will there be an available spot for my child?
We can't guarantee it. We encourage all families to register as soon as they can when enrollment for the upcoming program year opens. You may call or send us an email to see if there is an update on the status of your application. 
What ages do you accept into the programs?

Our accepted age range for the programs is 5-13 years old.

When do the programs start and end?

Please refer to the program pages for the most up-to-date information regarding start and end dates for the programs. 

How many children are enrolled into each class?

The maximum number each class is 16-18 children for the Arabic Learning program, and 3-4 for the FocusPoint program groups.

My child was previously in an Arabic language program and has some prior knowledge, will you test them to see where they stand?

All children who have taken Arabic lessons prior to enrolling in our program will, if necessary, be given a placement test to assess their level. Whether or not they are tested will depend on how much your child knows.

Do you assign children of different ages to the same Arabic class?

No. The overwhelming majority of our classes contain children of the same age.

Does the teacher speak English or Arabic to the students in the Arabic program?

The teachers speak as much Arabic as the children in the class can understand. The goal is to decrease the amount of English spoken as the year progresses. By Level 4, Arabic is expected to be the only language spoken with students.

What dialect of Arabic is spoken and taught in the Arabic program?

Vernacular dialects, such as Lebanese, Syrian, Egyptian, etc. are discouraged from use in the classroom. In class, standard Arabic (al-Fuṣḥā) is to be used only. 

Do the children receive any textbooks for the Arabic program?

Yes. Textbooks that are produced by Bayan will be given to each child at the start of the year. More details will follow after your enrollment process is complete.

Are the children assigned any homework for the Arabic Program?

Yes. All children are assigned some amount of homework to do throughout the week. 

Are the children provided meals throughout the day?

Yes. Students are offered a morning snack in class and a hot lunch in the afternoon, and are free-of-charge. All meat items are halal. You are also welcome to send a lunch with your child if you prefer.

What are the Arabic levels?

There are a total of 5 levels offered in the program, beginning from Level 1 and ending at Level 5. There is a special level for 5 and 6 year old beginners called Introductory, which is a simpler version of Level 1. Additionally, for students who complete Level 5 are able to return and enroll in the special Advanced class, where practice more of what they previously learned and build their grammar skills further.
