Arabic Made Fun and Simple

Arabic language lessons taking place weekly under the guidance of skilled instructors, where students will learn Arabic language fundamentals to allow them to be able to read, write, and speak in Arabic.

Placement

If a child has had prior learning experiences outside of our program, they may undergo placement testing by a proctor to place them at the highest level we believe they can succeed in.

Books

Children will be provided all materials to be used throughout the year.

Topics

Areas of study covered throughout the year will depend on class level. All levels will cover to varying depths: Reading, Writing, Speaking, Expression, and Grammar.

Homework

Children may be given homework assignments to be completed weekly for program success.

Arabiya Program FAQs

Children must be 5-12 years old to enroll.

Please refer to the program pages for the most up-to-date information regarding start and end dates for the program. 

The maximum number each class is 16-18 children.

All children who have taken Arabic lessons prior to enrolling in our program will, if necessary, be given a placement test to assess their level. Whether or not they are tested will depend on how much your child knows.

No. The overwhelming majority of our classes contain children of the same age.

The teachers speak as much Arabic as the children in the class can understand. The goal is to decrease the amount of English spoken as the year progresses. By Level 4, Arabic is expected to be the only language spoken with students.

Vernacular dialects, such as Lebanese, Syrian, Egyptian, etc. are not taught. In class, standard Arabic (al-Fuṣḥā) is to be taught only. 

Yes. Textbooks that are produced by Bayan will be given to each child at the start of the year. More details will follow after your enrollment process is complete.

Yes. All children are assigned some amount of homework to do throughout the week. 

Yes. Students are offered a morning snack in class and a hot lunch in the afternoon, and are free-of-charge. All meat items are halal. You are also welcome to send a lunch with your child if you prefer.

There are a total of 5 levels offered in the program, beginning from Level 1 and ending at Level 5. There is a special level for 5 and 6 year old beginners called Introductory, which is a simpler version of Level 1. Additionally, for students who complete Level 5 are able to return and enroll in the special Advanced class, where practice more of what they previously learned and build their grammar skills further.

Unfortunately there is no installment plan available, however, your family may be eligible for the Scholarship Program to save on costs.

Yes. Please let us know if you would like to remain in the center with your child before you do.
Yes a one-day trial may be granted if the program is not at full capacity. A parent will need to remain with their child the entire time during this time.
Yes, all staff members in the center are required to pass a comprehensive state and federal background check.
Bayan is inclusive of all children, regardless of their abilities. As long as our staff are able to safely and appropriately accommodate your child—without compromising their safety, the safety of others, or the overall quality of the program—we will gladly welcome them.
